About Us

GrudgeCityActivities.com was founded in July 2008 with the goal of documenting the past, present and future of Salt Lake City Hardcore. We try to capture the feel of the cut-and-paste zines of yesteryear in a digital format, enriching our columns with audio, video and interactive content. This is not for profit... simply a couple guys giving back to a scene that has given us so much.

@daniel_fletcher

Dan was born in upstate New York and moved to Utah as a kid. He studied Journalism and Anthropology at the University of Utah and has played in a number of Salt Lake hardcore bands. Dan writes for GCA and handles the lion's share of web development work. He recently relocated to Brooklyn, NY where he handles digital marketing for Vice Magazine/VBS.tv.

He is completing degrees in Film and Creative Writing at the University of Utah and writes about pop culture and comics for the Salt Lake City Weekly. Trevor pens articles, edits video footage and produces the podcast for GCA.

Sias Parsons
E-mail Sias
SLCHC History: Grand Master of Vegan BBQ & Live Sound Engineering

Sias is your classic 'man-behind-the-scenes.' For years he's handled live sound for Salt Lake Hardcore shows (thank him next time you see him), and at GCA he takes care of the brass tacks of keeping things running on the day-to-day. He's got a soft spot for female-fronted indie pop. He's the proud father of two semi-lovable Boston Terriers, Judge and Oscar. You've probably enjoyed a BBQ or two at his place in Sugarhouse. And he could build you a deck with his eyes closed.

Casey, aka The Big Dogg
SLCHC History: Killed by Death, Dogwelder, The Toy Monger

Casey is also a native of Salt Lake's East Side. He was a member of infamous, Salt Lake Punk legends, Killed by Death. He now fronts the band Dogwelder. He is a true connoisseur of food and beverage and an accomplished chef. For a living, he runs a toy store but you probably know him best as the life blood of the GCAcast, where his penchant for tall tales and good jokes shines.
